Definitely some good thoughts, but don't you think a guy/gal should have a jig or two in their aresenal? Ecspecially with all the money they will save with Secret Weapon Lures, they should be able to get a jig or two. And what about topwaters? What is bass fishing without the thrill of topwater? They better throw in a SW Buzzbait or two as well.

Normally I would include a buzzbait but a spinnerbait can also be used to act like a buzzer. You can boil the top of the water with a big spinnerbait. Plus buzz baits and top water are time specific, usually when the water warms to 60 degrees plus. Soft plastics when fished on a texas rig is much like fishing a jig, especially a tube bait. Usually a $100 tackle box is for the beginner and you don't want too much to confuse your selection or make it harder then it needs to be. Learn a few baits and get confidence in them before expanding your baits.
