I fished Saturday in a little KY Spot only tournament on Percy Priest out of 4-Corners boat ramp.  It is a little tournament usually around 10-15 boats held every Saturday morning at 7 a.m.  It helps to keep the rust off the lures.

Air Temp Started out around 40 and warmed to 70 degrees.

 I fished it by myself this past Saturday and managed a 4th and Big Smallmouth honors.
I started out the morning on one of my favorite bluffs. I fished it for about an hour with a drop shot and jigs.  I did not get one nibble nor did I see anyone around me get any bites.   I shot down lake to some more bluffs with no luck.  I then stopped at the dam.  I fished the face of the dam and managed to catch 2 nice Spots on a drop shot DS-Creature.

I then headed to Hamilton Creek to check out another KY Spot road bed. No one at home.  I moved over a point and my 3rd cast with a Snootie Jig in watermelon netted me a 17" smallie.  She came out of about 2-3 ft of water. A few more cast and I hooked another nice smallie that came unbuttoned at the boat.  It was around the same size.

I headed up lake past the Hobson Pike bridge to a few more bluffs.  I caught 1 more KY Spots and about 5 short largemouth.  Most all my fish came off the Snootie jig in either watermelon or pumpkin.

A friend of mine, Torrance Miller, caught a 20" Smallie that went about 5lbs and another 16" smallie.  The 20" was caught on a 3/16 Black/Blue Bitsy bug and the 16" on a Float-N-Fly Rig.  Nice fish Torrance!
