Saturday December 30th.
Weather: Party Cloudy to overcast Variable winds 5 mph.
Water Temps: 47-49 degrees
water vis. 3ft to 5ft toward the dam.
It was a fairly slow day for me on Priest this past weekend. I started out toward the damn on a few bluffs that I like to fish. I caught one small Bass on a Bitsy Bug 3/16 oz jig and that was about it. I moved on down to fish the face of the dam and again nothing. I did watch a guy catch 4 or 5 crappie and he mentioned he was catching them fairly shallow. I started to hop my way up lake from Hobson Pike bridge toward Fate Sanders. I caught a few fish on a
Snootie Jig but nothing I could put a pattern together with. I did notice however the fish were shallower then I expected. I had been fishing 15 to 30ft with little results. I moved up toward the bank and fished 2ft to 15ft of water. I caught 7 bass and a drum in less then 5ft of water. The water temps were 48-49 degrees and it was cloudy. I didn't catch any toads but it sure was fun to get out and catch something.
I will be at the Fishing and Turkey Expo at the TN State Fairgrounds this next weekend. Hope to see you all there.
