Score Amistad bass 1 Billy 1
Today was much better in numbers then Friday. We had a 20mph wind so we decided to luanch in the Pacos river and drive up the Rio Grande. We struggled for a few hours because we were pig hunting. No go today on the pigs so we just fished. We got into them around 2pm on a grass flat that had standing trees. I got the 1st 3 of the day and was up 4 fish at one point. We finally quit counting at 25 fish. We did not catch a single short fish. Our best 5 would have gone around 15lbs. We caught them on about everything, white trick worms, sweet beavers, 8" watermelon lizards, dead ringers and ring worms. Water temps are slowly coming up, we ended at 57 degrees. The 3lb fish are starting to come up but I dont think the toads are ready yet.
I have only 1.5 days left, we are heading out to the main lake and going pig hunting again.
I don't want to leave without a double digit bass. I am a few weeks early for the toads but hopefully next year I will make it at prime time!
